When it comes to a warm-weather cocktail, cognac as a base doesn’t always spring to mind. But this National Cognac Day, you’re going to change that with the help of D’USSE Cognac. Whether you’re entertaining, imbibing at home alone, or need a palate refresher, these cognac cocktails will prove to be winners on this special day and beyond.
D’USSE FLEUR DE VIE
Ingredients:
1 750ml bottle of D’USSE Cognac
20 oz St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur
12 oz simple syrup
20 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
1 bottle of Martini & Rossi Prosecco
Vessel: Large punch bowl
Glassware: Stemless wine
Garnish: Lemon wheels and edible flowers
Method: Add all ingredients into a punch bowl. Add Ice. Stir until well mixed. Add lemon slices and edible flowers.
THE COCO
Ingredients:
2 oz D’USSE Cognac
2 oz coconut water
½ oz lime juice
½ oz agave nectar
Lime wedge
Glassware: Highball
Garnish: Lime wheel
Method: Add D’USSE, coconut, lime, and agave into a shaker with ice. Squeeze lime wedge into shaker. Shake and pour into a highball glass. Garnish with a lime wheel.
D’USSE FRENCH MOJITO
Ingredients:
2 oz D’USSE Cognac
1oz Monin Ginger Syrup
1 oz fresh lime juice
10 mint leaves
Club soda
Glassware: Highball
Garnish: Lime wedge and mint sprig
Method: Add D’USSE, ginger syrup, and lime juice into shaker with ice. Shake and pour into a highball glass. Top with soda. Garnish with a lime wedge and mint sprig top.
THE NEW FASHIONED
Ingredients:
2 oz D’USSE Cognac
.75 oz simple syrup
4 dashes of Angostura Bitters
Glassware: Old Fashioned
Garnish: Orange peel
Garnish: Brandied cherry
Method: Add all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice. Stir until cold. Strain into an Old Fashioned glass with a large format ice cube. Twist orange peel over the cocktail to release the oils. Garnish with the orange peel and a brandied cherry.
SIDECAR
Ingredients:
2 oz D’USSE Cognac
1 oz Grand Marnier
1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
Glassware: Coup
Garnish: Lemon peel
Garnish: Sugar rim
Method: Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Rim a chilled coup glass with sugar. Shake and strain. Garnish with a lemon peel.
D’USSE & LEMONADE
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz D’USSE Cognac
4 oz lemonade
Glassware: Highball
Garnish: Lemon wheel
Method: Add D’USSE and lemonade into an ice filled highball glass. Garnish with a lemon wheel.
