Meghan Markle is a style icon regardless of whether she wants to be. So when she makes a public appearance or posts to social media, people take notice in order to get her look. But subtly is key even when Markle is celebrating her children, Archie and Lilibet Diana.
The Duchess of Sussex commemorated her 40th birthday on Aug. 4th by releasing a video on the the Archewell foundation website and Instagram to announce her new philanthropic venture, the 40x40 mentoring program. She teamed up with Melissa McCarthy to ask “40 friends to donate 40 minutes of their time to help mentor a woman who is mobilizing back into the workforce.” This was Markle’s first appearance since giving birth to daughter Lilibet on June 4th and she kept her little stars near to her heart.
Markle wore a simple all-white loungewear look that made her subtly blinged out necklaces even more eye-catching. To honor her children, she layered two Logan Hollowell zodiac constellation necklaces. The $1,600 Taurus Constellation Necklace was a nod to 2-year-old Archie, and the $1,785 Gemini Constellation Necklace was in honor of 2-month-old Lilibet. Both necklaces are available in yellow, rose, and white gold, and feature diamonds and white sapphires to represent the stars of the constellation.
Hollowell is a Los Angeles jeweler who uses recycled gold and ethically-sourced gemstones in her work. Markle is focused on sustainability so Hollowell’s delicate pieces are a perfect fit.
Markle has other jewelry to honor her children and her husband. She has a diamond eternity band with Prince Harry’s, Archie’s, and her birthstones, and has zodiac necklaces with Virgo and Taurus charms for Harry and Archie. She’s also been known to rock a tiny “A” pendant for Archie.
If Logan Hollowell’s jewelry is too expensive, then check out Ana Luisa, which also creates sustainably-crafted pieces. May we suggest the super-cute Mama Necklace ($47.20 on sale)?
