For LaQuan Smith's NYFW FW '22 runway show, Unilever Global Stylist and celebrity hair artist Lacy Redway was inspired by the glamorous and chic women enjoying an après ski cocktail or hot cocoa in the 1970s and '80s. The sleek buns she coiffed and finished off with a high-gloss shine are a nod to the icy slopes.
“I wanted the hair to complement the glamour that we know and love from LaQuan Smith," said Redway, whom you can catch using TRESemmé products to style the models' hair on the recent season of Project Runway, in press materials. "We kept it bold, sleek, and frozen in place, without a single strand out of place.”
Redway used these products to style the models for LaQuan's fashion show: TRESemmé One Step Smooth, TRESemmé TRES TWO Mega Control Gel, TRESemmé TRES TWO Freeze Hold Hair Spray, TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Shine Serum.
Here's the breakdown so you can get the look at home:
- Begin with TRESemmé One Step Smooth and work it through the hair so there is moisture from roots to ends before creating the style.
- Apply TRESemmé TRES TWO Mega Control Gel throughout before brushing hair back using a boar bristle brush to smooth out any texture all the way to the crown of the head. Once hair is completely smooth, secure with a hair tie and split the ponytail in half.
- Wrap the two parts into themselves, creating a knot. Secure the knot with hair pins and freeze the style in place with TRESemmé TRES TWO Freeze Hold Hair Spray.
- Complete the look with TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Shine Serum to create the icy effect.
