Kerry Washington recently revealed her favorite OPI nail polishes for the summer and sported a manicure her go-to celebrity nail artist, Kim Truong, created with five of her faves.
The actor, producer, director, and activist is serving as OPI’s brand ambassador for its 40th anniversary and chose her most beloved summer shades from the brand’s top iconic 40. Truong then created a summer-tactic nail design that included hearts, stars, and vibrant French tips.
Washington’s nail lacquers of the season, include the cafe au lait-esque “Tiramisu for Two,” the punchy-pink “Strawberry Margarita,” the saturated yellow of “Sun, Sea, and Sand in My Pants,” the creamy light purple of “Do You Lilac It?,” and the icy pale blue of “Gelato on My Mind,” and the deep burgundy "We the Female."
OPI co-founder Suzi Weiss-Fischmann also chose “Strawberry Margarita” and “Do You Lilac It?” as her favorite summer shades, but also added the neutral “Samoan Sand,” the spicy coral “Cajun Shrimp,” the season-less “Pompeii Purple,” and the universal pink “Let’s Be Friends” to her list.
If there’s one thing we’ve learned from Washington’s and Weiss-Fischmann’s picks, it’s to choose a neutral nail polish, like “Tiramisu for Two” and “Samoan Sand,” and then amp up the brightness with every other shade.
