Georgia officials have listed Kelly Price as missing after conducting a welfare check at her Cobb County home on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021. Shortly before her disappearance, the Gospel and R&B singer had been discharged from a hospital where she underwent treatment for COVID-19.
The National Crime Information Center has her listed as missing now. Authorities have spoken with her boyfriend and have not found any evidence of foul play. However, her family reportedly told police that her boyfriend is allegedly preventing them and her friends from visiting her home, per TMZ.
Price revealed she had COVID and the symptoms were severe, during a video posted to Instagram on July 29th. She was admitted to the hospital about a week later, and her family says she was put in ICU because her condition had become dire.
Her family told TMZ that they maintained contact with her while she was in the hospital in early-August, and her children, Jonia Rolle and Jeff Rolle, Jr., visited her several times. They were reportedly surprised to receive notice that the hospital had discharged her three weeks after she was admitted because she hadn’t fully recovered.
An unidentified person requested authorities perform a welfare check when people close to Price grew concerned that her boyfriend was allegedly keeping her friends and family away from her home. Police are currently investigating her whereabouts, and her disappearance has garnered international attention.
