Yesterday, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and New York Times best-selling author Jeezy released the trailer for what promises to be a candid conversation with actress, producer, and director Nia Long. The “I Might Forgive… But I Don’t Forget” one-on-one conversation accompanies the rapper’s 29-song double album of the same title, which was released on Nov. 3.
Judging from the trailer, the pair will delve into trauma, infidelity, honesty, and how men and women support each other emotionally. Both have allegedly dealt with infidelity in their relationships – Jeezy with estranged wife Jeannie Mai and Nia with former partner Ime Udoka. In his new song “Don’t Cheat,” Jeezy can be heard denouncing infidelity in his lyrics, which has led to speculation about the marriage he filed to end in mid-September. The discussion also turns to his childhood, which he says included sexual abuse or molestation, as well as gun violence and the relationship between him and his mother.
“Your truth will set you free, but not until it’s finished with you,” Jeezy captioned an Instagram post sharing the trailer above.
The “I Might Forgive… But I Don’t Forget” conversation will premiere on Jeezy’s YouTube Channel today, Nov. 7, at 6 PM EST.
Jeezy and Long have an undeniable comfort with each other so this interview should be very revealing.
