On Sunday, March 31st, an unknown suspect fatally shot rapper Nipsey Hussle, 33-year-old Ermias Davidson Asghedom, near his clothing store in Los Angeles.

The Grammy-nominated rapper is infamously known for selling more than 1,000 of his 2013 mixtape, Crenshaw, for $100 per cassette. He is the founder of All Money In No Money Out Records record label, and owned The Marathon Agency, SC Commercial Ventures, and Proud 2 Pay. He has worked with Kendrick Lamar, DJ Khaled, Drake, YG, Ty Dolla Sign, Meek Mill, and Young Thug.
Last year, he opened the first Marathon Clothing smart store at 3420 W. Slauson Boulevard. in LA.
Although his Facebook page says he was “a devout member of the Rolling Sixty Crips,” Hussle was committed to fighting gang violence. He was scheduled to meet with LA Police Commissioner Steve Soboroff and LAPD Chief Michael Moore today to discuss ways to curb gang violence.
The rapper’s last message on Twitter was, “Having strong enemies is a blessing."
As has become the custom, many celebrities, including entertainers, rappers, and basketball players, reacted to the news of Nipsey Hussle’s passing on social media.
