NBC announced today that Chris Rock will host the season opener of Saturday Night Live on Oct. 3rd. Megan Thee Stallion will also be the musical guest for the premiere of SNL’s 46th season.

This is a remarkable autumn for Rock, as he stars in the fourth installment of FX’s critically-acclaimed drama Fargo that will premiere on Sept. 27th. And he will host SNL for a third time a few days later.

Megan Thee Stallion will take the stage in Studio 8H to make her SNL musical guest debut. The rapper’s “Savage” was the definitive song of the summer and her latest album, which features the edgy tune, has been streamed more than 900 million times. Megan made news this summer for “WAP,” a joint effort with fellow rapper Cardi B, and for allegedly being shot in the foot by rapper Tory Lanez. Judging from her virtual performance at the 2020 BET Awards, Megan is sure to bring the heat to SNL.

Lorne Michaels is the creator and executive producer of Saturday Night Live.
