A 9-year old was shot and injured while selling Girl Scout cookies in Indianapolis on Tuesday, according to police. Sinai Miller was walking near her home with her two younger sisters when a passing vehicle fired shots. She was hit in the leg and sent to the hospital in stable condition before being released home.
“They walked outside the door, and they didn’t even get to make it across the lot and then the shots start ringing out,” said Mark Chandler, the boyfriend of the girl’s mother.
Indianapolis police officers were dispatched to the Retreat Cooperative apartments just after 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Witnesses reported seeing someone’s arm sticking out of an SUV window and firing the gun aimlessly before taking off. Police are now searching for a blue Ford Expedition.
