Russell Neal of the ’90s R&B singing group Hi-Five is in police custody in the stabbing death of his wife in Houston. Officers say the platinum-selling artist turned himself in Wednesday after admitting his wife was dead in their home.
Neal, 40, reportedly handed himself over to the Harris Country sheriff’s office, telling authorities he had gotten into an argument with wife and fitness model Catherine Martinez. He refused to answer any further questions.
Cops then forced their way into the couple’s west Houston apartment where they found Martinez, 24, unresponsive with multiple stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Court records show Neal remained in jail Friday on a $100,000 bond. The singer is facing murder charges and is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
