Talk That Talk singer Rihanna may have to pay for her slick words to her former bodyguard.
Geoffrey Keating, former head of security for the singer while she toured from October 2012 to July 2013, filed a defamation lawsuit yesterday in Ireland. Rihanna was served papers in the US.
The lawsuit includes “nauseatingly offensive” and untrue statements about Keating in an email addressed to him and his partner. Keating also claims false comments were made about him in a phone call to his sister by Rihanna last July. The former bodyguard states the singer’s comments negatively impacted his reputation and business.
Keating’s attorney, Gerald Kean, tells TMZ, “We’re taking this battle very seriously. We are satisfied that the Irish Courts will see justice at the end of the day.”
A rep for Rihanna has yet to comment.
