Among those invited were his Baggage Claim co-star Lauren London, who Terrence J credits for helping him get started in the business.
Terrence J, whose full name is Terrence Jenkins, used the trip to inspire youth through Disney Dreamers Academy, which connects 100 U.S. high school students together to fuel their dreams each year with the help of Steve Harvey and Essence.
At the event, Terrence J spoke about following your dreams and offered advice from his new book, The Wealth of My Mother’s Wisdom. The book offers important life lessons his mother Lisa Gonzalez taught him so he could achieve his dream.
“As a 17-year-old single mom with relatively little support and all the chips stacked against her, she was able to provide an incredible amount of support for me,” Terrence J writes. “Her lessons enriched my spirit, my emotions, and my relationship with God.”
Celebrity friends Kevin Hart, Ludacris, T.I., Trey Songz, and Laz Alonso also contributed to the book.
Next, Terrence J will spread his message of achieving goals to students at his alma mater North Carolina A&T State University.
