Bruno Mars will be following a hard act after Beyonce‘s reign over the Super Bowl halftime show, but we’re sure he can handle his own.
The Grammy Award winner has been selected as next year’s headlining performer at Super Bowl XLVIII at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The formal announcement was made Sunday (Sept. 8) at an event in New York City’s Times Square.
“WE’RE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL!!!!!!!
#PepsiSBHalftime,” Mars tweeted in excitement.
The big show is set for Feb. 2, 2014.
As one of pop music’s biggest acts, Mars has garnered numerous awards and an international fan base since his solo debut, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, in 2010. His biggest hits include “Just The Way You Are,” Grenade,” “Locked Out of Heaven” and “When I Was Your Man.”
Last year’s Super Bowl show brought in well over 100 million viewers.
