Many people questioned Jennifer Hudson’s capabilities when they learned that she’d been cast to play Winnie Mandela in biopic, Winnie. However, JHud told HipHollywood that she’s not too busy concerning herself with those who doubt her because folks said the same thing about her role in Dreamgirls—and we all see what a success that was. On the challenges of taking on her first starring role:
“Facing ‘Winnie’ was definitely the most intimidating. I mean, it’s Winnie Mandela. Just to be anywhere near that is intimidating alone, and then it was my first lead role at the same time, which was also like, daunting.”
