In a recent interview with FLAUNT magazine, Beyoncé answered a series of questions that gave readers a bit more insight into the woman behind the glitz, glamour, and body glitter – have you SEEN that dope magazine cover?! – but it was a question about pleasing your partner that really intrigued me:
FLAUNT: A number of magazines list the top X number of ways to please your lover. Anything missing on these lists typically?
Beyoncé: If you have to read those lists, you’re already in trouble.
I came up reading various women’s magazines that offered list upon list of ways to be a veritable sex goddess. “Make him hot for you – TONIGHT!” they said. “Have the BEST SEX EVER!” they promised. Before I had even turned in my V-card, I was poring over lists and tearing out sex position diagrams – I thought I had the game sewn up before I had even laced up my running shoes.
Fast forward some years, and I chuckle at the memories. While those lists are great for a laugh with your friends, utilizing them as a serious “how-to” guide is, well … misguided. What Beyoncé was referring to – and what I eventually learned – is that communication can change the sex game.
