Halle Berry has taken on a new task while pregnant with baby No. 2: ending world hunger.
The 46-year-old actress has joined forces with fashion designer Michael Kors for Watch Hunger Stop, a philanthropic campaign linked with the U.N. World Food Programme. Announced Monday, the effort will raise money through the sale of Kors’ $295 Runway watch.
For each timepiece sold, 100 meals will be provided to children across the globe. Berry and Kors are also expected to visit Africa, Syria, Central America and other areas where the food will be sent.
“I hope we go while I’m pregnant, so I can talk about prenatal care,” the expecting mother said in an interview Saturday. “[…] It’s so important to me, being a mom, that I can help educate women on how important it is that when you have a healthy child, it helps set them up for life.”
Berry, who wants to meet and speak with mothers struggling to feed their children, said she hopes to involve five million people through donations of time or money.
