Morris Chestnut is continuing to keep busy this year with two new roles on the horizon. The Think Like A Man actor has just been cast in Showtime’s Golden Globe-nominated comedy Nurse Jackie. He, along with Broadway starÂ Marcy Harriell, will join the cast next season, reports Deadline.
Chestnut is set to play Ike Prentiss, a new trauma doctor and former Army medic who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. WhileÂ well-versed in his field, Prentiss could stand to learnÂ a thing or two from Jackie (Edie Falco). Harriell will play Marta Rodriguez, a new nurse on the floor, who isÂ a mother of three working extra shifts whenever she can.

In addition to theÂ upcoming television role, Chestnut is also in talks to play Graham Jackson in Fox Searchlightâ€™s Baggage Claim. The romantic comedy, based onÂ David E. Talbert’s best-selling debut novel, centers around a flight attendant traveling across America in hopes to find a husband.
Paula Patton, Derek Luke, Octavia Spencer, TayeÂ Diggs, Trey Songz and others have all been confirmed for the project.
