I struggled with this topic just a bit. I must admit, the first season of Basketball Wives did not secure my interest at all. I had absolutely no desire to watch Shaunie O’Neal, who was then going through a very public divorce, gather her cronies and bash all the men in the NBA that they once dated, were engaged to and on a few occasions were actually married to. The mere announcement of the cast alone made me Google the players these women were connected to, because with the exception of Shaquille O’Neal and Dwight Howard (I hope he doesn’t put a gag order out on me) I was clueless who any of these folks were. Alas. I watched the second season, and although I wasn’t sold, I was partly entertained by these women, but that season was quite deceiving in foreshadowing what was to come.
