3. Sugar Mill Restaurant (St. John, USVI)
The US Virgin Islands are pleasantly accented with nearly untouched, historic sugar mills for the exploring kind. One on-site converted sugar mill at Caneel has been transformed into one of the resorts highest-acclaimed eateries Sugar Mill (The Equator Restaurant). Headed by Executive Chef Anthony Dawodu, all entrees are based around locally sourced ingredients like fresh seafood that comes in from the Caneel Bay dock each day, and greens that are organic and locally grown. As an added bonus, couples can arrange for private candlelight dinners for two, complete with tiki torch lighting and private tables in the secluded outdoor seating area of the mill.
